- What you need first: Nothing. Read this before you book.
- What's next: Head back to the Skydiving hub to pick your next step.
Skydiving runs on rules, and they're the reason it stays fun. Every affiliated UK centre trains to British Skydiving's rules.
Who can jump
- You must be at least 16. Under-18s need written permission from a parent or guardian.
- Solo training must start before your 55th birthday. Some centres set a lower limit. This doesn't apply to tandems, although health rules still do.
- Each centre sets its own weight limits. British Skydiving says they're typically around 15 stone, so ask your centre.
Membership
British Skydiving Full Membership is £121.17 for access until 31 March 2027.
Your own kit
Centres provide student kit. When you're ready to buy, British Skydiving says to get advice from your Chief Instructor and check the canopy size chart, Form 330i. Cameras come later, at C Licence, with your Chief Instructor's approval.
