Typical UK course prices for every sport we cover, plus our match fee.

We searched course prices at clubs and schools across the UK, so you know what to expect. Typical ranges, checked October 2026. Each club or coach sets its own price.

We don't take payment for any of these courses. You book and pay the club or coach directly. Our match fee pays for our know-how: we find you the right qualified coach for your sport, so you save time and learn from the pros.

Mountaineering, coasteering and rock climbing

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £55 to £150 per person
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £450 to £1,000 (Rock Climbing Instructor to Mountain Leader; registration extra)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £40 to £70 an hour (outdoor coach)

Scuba diving

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £55 to £160 per person
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £445 to £900 (PADI or SSI Open Water)
  • Per dive: Typical UK price: £65 to £120 a dive

Paragliding

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £140 to £230 per person (BHPA day membership sometimes extra)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £1,250 to £1,700 (Elementary Pilot + Club Pilot; BHPA membership extra)
  • Per day: Typical UK price: £140 to £200 a day

Mountain biking

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £80 to £250 per person
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £250 to £600 (British Cycling coaching award)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £45 to £70 an hour

Wakeboarding

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £70 to £165 per person (coached cable session with kit)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £595 to £850 (BWSW Level 1 and 2, extras included)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £70 to £165 an hour (coached cable time)

Skydiving and indoor skydiving

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £189 to £349 per person (video extra)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £1,400 to £1,900 (AFF + A licence; British Skydiving membership extra)
  • Per coached jump: Typical UK price: £40 to £80 a coached jump

Motocross

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £189 to £350 per person (bike and kit included)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £425 to £560 (one-to-one development day)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £70 to £140 an hour (coached track time with a bike)

Kiteboarding

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £130 to £199 per person
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £360 to £1,000 (beginner to independent rider)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £65 to £80 an hour (private lesson)

Wingsuit flying

  • First-flight course (after at least 200 skydives): Typical UK price: £250 to £600 per person (jump tickets extra)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £6,000 to £12,000 from no jumps (AFF, at least 200 jumps, a first-flight course and a wingsuit)
  • Per coached jump: Typical UK price: £40 to £100 a coached jump

Skateboarding and BMX

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £32 to £60 per person (one-hour private lesson with board and pads)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £200 to £450 (coaching award)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £32 to £60 an hour (private coaching)

Surfing

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £45 to £140 per person (two-hour lesson with kit, group to private)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £160 to £400 (block of lessons to ISA Level 1 surf coach)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £35 to £70 an hour

BASE jumping

  • Become qualified: Typical price abroad: £1,250 to £2,500 (the first BASE course is the entry step; there is no UK qualification)
  • Per day: Typical price abroad: £200 to £400 a day for coaching

BASE is for experienced skydivers only. You'll need at least 200 skydives, including some from a hot air balloon, before a BASE course will even consider you.

Snowboarding and skiing

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £70 to £140 per person (private hour or indoor learn-to-ride day)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £600 to £900 (BASI Level 1, up to an indoor package)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £45 to £110 an hour (private lesson)

Kayaking and white water rafting

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £45 to £90 per person
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £220 to £500 (Paddle UK instructor to White Water Leader)
  • Hourly: Typical UK price: £35 to £60 an hour with a coach

Hang gliding

  • Experience day: Typical UK price: £180 to £220 per person (one-day taster)
  • Become qualified: Typical UK price: £1,300 to £1,600 (Elementary Pilot + Club Pilot; BHPA membership extra)
  • Per day: Typical UK price: £140 to £200 a day

You pay these prices to the club or coach. Our match fee is separate and paid on top.

You pay it when you enquire. Full refund if we can't find you a coach within 14 days, or if your health stops you training. We check every coach's qualifications, insurance and references.
